BIO

I am a mechanical engineer from the UK, now based in the San Francisco Bay Area, USA. I managed the design engineering team (chassis, powertrain, body, interiors, electrical and packaging) at the first company to design, build and sell cars in Africa. A wonderful experience to complement my time at Jaguar Land Rover  (JLR) where I worked on the Hybrid Range Rover and Range Rover Sport. At JLR I commissioned prototype hybrid vehicles, and tested the hybrid system. One highlight was representing the company during a private demonstration to the Prince of Wales. I was technical support for a plug in hybrid Range Rover and had to solve technical problems while at his home in Scotland where he is called the Duke of Rothesay.

I have also worked as a manufacturing consultant (Newton Europe) to speed up production and reduce waste. These skills were put to work when I was seconded to the production team at Mobius Motors and I helped the factory launch the first production run. I worked in Germany for a year as a placement student at Tyco Electronics in the power cable materials R&D team.

In 2014 I achieved Chartered Engineer status with the Institute of Mechanical Engineers - the world's oldest professional engineering body. In my spare time I like to invent things and I always have a project on the go.
I studied Sports Engineering, graduating in 2008 with First Class Honours from the University of Bath. Here's a national prize I was a finalist for with my Masters' project.
